Impact evaluation of prioritized vaccinations
Title of the project:
Impact evaluation of prioritized vaccinations (Impactevaluierung von priorisierten Impfungen)
Funding:
This project, conducted in collaboaration with the TU Wien, has received funding from the Federal Ministry of Social Affairs, Health, Care and Consumer Protection (BMSGPK)
Project information:
Vaccinations are one of the most effective preventative measures in medicine and play a central role in public health. According to the Austrian Vaccination Plan (Impfplan) 2024/25, twelve vaccinations, outside of the free childhood vaccination program, are generally recommended, at least to specific target groups. Members of the Department of Epidemiology contributed with a large-scale systematic review and targeted literature search to obtain parameters and assumptions (such as vaccine efficacy/effectiveness and duration of protection) for selected indications to inform a simulation model that depicts the Austrian population in a steady state.
