Thomas RESCH has been working as a Senior Scientist in the Department of Health Economics on the STREAMLINE project since July 2023. He is currently pursuing his doctoral studies in Social Sciences (Sociology) at the University of Vienna. His dissertation is based on survey data from Vienna and Austria's population regarding socio-economic and health factors, experiences with the healthcare system, as well as attitudes and preferences towards health policy and resource allocation in the healthcare system. Thomas Resch completed his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Business Administration at the University of Vienna. His research interests lie in the areas of health economics and policy, medical ethics, and medical sociology. He is particularly focused on chronic diseases, mental health, socio-economic determinants, equity in healthcare, and redistribution of scarce resources.

 

Prior to his work in the Department of Health Economics, Thomas Resch worked as a research project assistant in the Austrian Corona Panel Project (ACPP) at the Department for Economic Sociology at the University of Vienna. In addition, he deepened his knowledge in project management, survey methods, and data analysis through a project funded by the City of Vienna (MA 7), the Vienna Public Health Equity Project (ViePHEP).
