Vera-Lise IHM, BSc MPH

Vera-Lise IHM holds a bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Sciences and a Master of Public Health from the Medical University of Vienna. She also studied medicine for several years before moving into the public health service.

She leads the area of epidemiological wastewater monitoring at the City of Vienna’s Public Health Department (MA 15). Her work focuses on monitoring pathogens in wastewater and using the findings to support epidemiological surveillance and decision-making by public health authorities.

Alongside her professional role, she is pursuing a doctorate in Applied Medical Science at the Medical University of Vienna.

Her research field is the implementation and use of wastewater-based surveillance (WBS) in public health.
