Michael BERGER joined the Department of Health Economics in July 2020. He works as a post-doc scientist. He holds a PhD in Economics from the Vienna University of Economics and Business (WU) and a master’s (MSc equivalent) and bachelor’s degree (BSc equivalent) in Economics from the University of Vienna. His doctoral thesis deals with the topic of financial sustainability of healthcare systems. His current research interests include applied health econometrics, health policy analysis and the sustainability and efficiency of healthcare systems.
Prior to his appointment at the Medical University of Vienna, he has worked in the field of Health Economics and Health Policy since 2012 at the Institute for Advanced Studies (IHS) and imehps.research in Vienna, contributing to both international research projects like the EU 7th framework project CEPHOS-Link as well as various national projects like the Comet K-project dexhelpp.
