Neues Vorstandsmitglied der Working Time Society gewählt

Kyriaki Papantoniou von der Abteilung für Epidemiologie wurde als Vorstandsmitglied der Working Time Society und als Sekretärin des ICOH-Wissenschaftsausschusses für Schichtarbeit und Arbeitszeit gewählt.


The Working Time Society (WTS) is an international society promoting research related to working hours, health and safety across researchers, organizations and the general public. The WTS has elected the new Board Members for the Triennium 2024-2027. In this year’s elections Dr. Papantoniou was elected to serve the Board for a second term. She was also appointed as the Secretary of the Scientific Committee on Shiftwork and Working Time of the International Commission of Occupational Health (ICOH).

Kyriaki Papantoniou is an Associate Professor in the Department of Epidemiology and an expert in circadian and sleep health. Her research focuses on the effects of shift work and sleep loss on a variety of chronic diseases such as obesity and cancer and on the key mechanisms underlying these risks in real world occupational settings. She is one of the PIs of Shift2Health, an EU funded project aiming to develop and test interventions for the prevention of obesity among shift workers.
